"Are you a friend of the bride or groom?" is a question so familiar to guests at a wedding.

It's a conversation starter, a way to seat you/sort you, a way to know you. It's a question that leads to other questions. But it's not that often that a "photographer" gets to hear this asked of them.

Funny thing is, I have to admit, I get asked more often than I don't. And I LOVE it every time.

Here's the thing...you are already more than a client to me. Even if I've never met you, you quite honestly are my new best friend. It's the way my mama raised me. I love people. I love connecting with people, finding ways to bond, finding ways to laugh and enjoy life together.

When we meet, I really do want to know all about you. The details of your wedding, the stuff

you and your family do for fun, how you met your fiance, what makes you happier than any-

thing, even what kind of music and movies you like. Because when I photograph a person, I like to really know them, my new friend, and provide images that will make everyone say "That is

SO 'them'".

I love knowing that, when asked the question (and for years and years beyond), when someone asks me if I'm a friend of the bride or groom, I can proudly say "both". :)
